For most of us, childhood was the easiest part of our lives, but for some children it can be the hardest.
The children and young people waiting to be sponsored have grown up in exceptionally difficult circumstances – coping with poverty, family illness, parental alcohol misuse, homelessness, disability, abuse and bereavement.
And that's why we need you.
As a sponsor, your £15 a month will help Barnardo's give your sponsored child:
- A dedicated project worker to provide 1-to-1 emotional support, advice and guidance
- The chance to recover and move on through professional therapy, support groups and specialist workshops
- Access to services that help transform children's lives such as homework support, vocational training and essential life skills

What you'll get as a

Once you become a sponsor, you'll want to keep your eye on the post. Your sponsored child will send you a lolly stick character they made especially for you. It represents who they are, because to protect each child we can't share real names or real photos.
You'll also get lots of wonderful information on your sponsorship and a great gift so you can show the world you're proud to be a Barnardo's Child Sponsor.
Best of all, you'll get your own personalised website where you'll receive real feedback from your sponsored child and their project worker.

As a Barnardo's Child Sponsor you'll make a real difference to a vulnerable child or young person who is desperate for your help. And we'll show you exactly how you're doing just that.
Once you've found out the child or young person you're sponsoring, you can go straight to your own personalised website. You'll find regular feedback from your sponsored child and their Barnardo's project worker.
